Dylan James Baker is a graduate of the Art Institute of California - San Francisco; with a Bachelor of Science in Audio Production and is the founder of the Smuggler's Cove Studios.
In 2010, Dylan was accepted into the Art Institute of California - San Francisco. His resume included formal training in jazz bass guitar as well as many theater technician classes throughout high school. He discovered his true passion was for improving not only his personal quality of sound, but the quality of sound of those around him.
In 2012, Dylan met Naimaj Drake of Niamaj Studios and platinum selling record "No Time for Words." Dylan began working with Niamaj at the beginning of his “Re:Creation” single, which can be found on iTunes. He started as an intern for the studio, but with experience and growth, Dylan stayed to become an assistant engineer to Niamaj.
By 2015, Dylan decided to leave the Art Institute to pursue a joint venture with local friends and talent Wooshay, to form TradeKraft Collective. Tradekraft Collective was an electronic music group that focused on releasing/promoting new music and live events. Dylan’s academic knowledge and experience came to value, as he had mastered the basics of live sound and event production. Dylan provided feedback and guidance to the artists in production before release.
In 2018, Dylan had been readmitted to the Art Institute and completed the degree requirements. By this time, he had released five solo albums, two joint albums with other artists and had collaborated on several dozen tracks.
Also during this time, Tradekraft had ceased to release more music in order to focus on the “Tradekraft Radio: Season 2” show. This highlighted founders Dylan and TQ with assistance from Trizzy E. Baby (from Channel88 Records). Tradekraft Collective Radio aired 16 episodes (2 seasons).
With every episode released, the number of listens grew consistently from a few hundred to the thousands; peaking at 2,287 listens by the end of its’ final episode. Tradekraft Collective eventually disbanded to pursue individual projects.
Currently, Dylan James Baker is the founder of the Smuggler's Cove Studios, where he composes beats and produces for a variety of clients in music, film and podcast.
